I think that Wesley acts like a "bad boy" so he could impress his friends. The truth is that he is interested in poems no matter what he thinks. I learn that he stops himself from learning because he wants to act like a "bad boy". The message of this poem is that the colored people still have hope and he connects this poem to other poems. I connect this poem to the world because is very difficult to leave hear and their is a lot of crime..
