Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespear Image

Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespear

The theme of the sonnet is that they are flirting themselves before they kiss. I know this because of the way Romeo say, let lips do what palms do so I know that palms touch so it means he wants to kiss her. This is all about love and know I could relate this poem to because "somebody like somebody but they can't be together because their friends say that we don't look good or he doesn't look good. I connect this to the Sonnet Ballad by Gwendolyn Brooks because is about love. I wish boys were nice like Romeo.Specially if they treat you nice and talk nice to you.

Maya Angelou Image

Men by Maya Angel

I loved this poem because is talking about the boys and what they really are looking for. This poem could be related to the whole world. The author writes deep about how she feels and that puts me in the authors shoes. She says that boys could be nice at the first but later they could be bad when they get what they wanted. This poem could teach girls my age to be responsible. Specially to take the right choices.

Andrew Marvell: To his Coy Mistress Image

Andrew Marvell: To his Coy Mistress

One of the examples of hyperbole that I found in this poem is that the author is saying that he loves her more than empire. I think he used this to show how much he loves her. A dessert of vast eternity. This show how much he loves his Mistress.

Just A Friend! - Ana Guerrero

Just A Friend!
You have lost your change the moment,
I close my eyes and fly away.

Time will never come back,
I will never think of you again.

I will never think of you again,
more than a friend or a classmate.

We see each other outside,
you are there playing baseball.

I don't even care,
I don't think of you,
more than a friend.

Thanks to you,
I have open my eyes and see,
how everything is in real life.

Poetry Response - Bronx Masquerade

Chankara is a very brave person and she is strong. She is very independent because she doesn't want to be like her sisters. The day she got hit by her girlfriend she saw herself as her sister. I think she is going to brake her relationship with her boyfriend .Since this book is about poems, I think she is going to write a poem about the bruce her boyfriend left her.She learn that girls are not a punching bag. I learn that girls should not let theme self get hit because that is self disrespect. I connect this poem to the world because a lot of woman's make excuses to stay with the boy they "love". That is not love! You could stay with that person just if you "love" to get hit.

Poetry Response - Bronx Masquerade

I think that Wesley acts like a "bad boy" so he could impress his friends. The truth is that he is interested in poems no matter what he thinks. I learn that he stops himself from learning because he wants to act like a "bad boy". The message of this poem is that the colored people still have hope and he connects this poem to other poems. I connect this poem to the world because is very difficult to leave hear and their is a lot of crime..

Alice Walker-Poem

I think the main idea of this poem is to make you feel sad.I think she doesn't get along with her partner.I think she thinks only by dying they will be in peace and without war.I connect with this poem because sometimes I fight with someone and I think I'll never stop fighting.

" Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening "

" Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening "

The mood that this poem represents is of sadness, tiredness and desperation. Frost uses A-B-B poetic devices and rhyme. He repeats the same lines of the poem at the end because he is showing that he has done his job and know he could die happy. He shows his feelings by saying his horse is tired and the night is very dark. I can connect with this sometimes.I get tired for studying hours for the test and there is still more tests to come or sometimes I feel lonely.
