The meaning in this poem is to don't give up on yourself and specially your life.The mood that creates is a brave and kind of scared voice because the poet doesn't want the old man to be dead.He is kind of furious because he doesn't want the old men to give up on his life.He is repeating ,"do not go gentle into that good night" because that is the meaning of the poem,that is what he wants to tell his father.Another poetic device is that he uses simile.For example,blind eyes cold blaze like meteors and be gay.The poet means that the eyes are thinking.This is a great poem.

The power of change
We have the power to change the world,
to change our minds,
to think different this time.

Since we have change,
we have hope,
we have faith ,
all around the world.

We don't judge a book by its cover,
just because is old damage or it has a color that you don't like.
The color could be ugly,
but the words help you change the country.

Open your eyes ,
see trough what people don't see.
Open your ears and hear him ,
like you hear a white mans speech.

Cirque Du Freak

Cirque Du Freak is a very fabulous book .I did some research in the book and I found out is a whole sequence.After Darren became the vampires assistant there is another book called the Vampires Assistant.I predict is going to be a whole mess with many twists.Is going to end up saying the title of the third book.

"Praise Song for the Day" by Elizabeth Alexander

I think "praise song for the day" means that is meaning thanks to the people that came before us and our heroes. This is significant to the poem because Obama gave us hope and Martin Luther King Junior fight ,so Obama could stand in front of the whole country. This poem makes me feel proud, proud of all the country because we have changed during the years. I really like when the poet used live by love because it sounds like there is a lot of love and there is peaceful moments. The poet uses these to show you how you should love someone.



Some poetic device that I notice was repetition ,rhyme and free verse. Every one is thinking of Obama at the same time and not thinking about there personal live. The theme of these poem is that everyone has change and they want change . We all work together and think the same things about our knew president. This poem reminds me that the world has changed and we are not in Martin Luther King Junior times.
